"The Few" - A Story That Connects

Some stories stay with us not because of dates, but because of the people who shaped them. We don't look to the past for pathos, but for inspiration and timeless values. Shelby "Spitfire" is one of those stories - a tale of courage, loyalty, and trust. Of the legendary No. 303 Squadron, which in the ranks of the RAF wrote a shared Polish-British chapter of history. And of how one moment can bring two nations closer together. And that's why, on the 85th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Britain, we created the Spitfire.

As British As They Come

The newsboy cap is a true British classic - once worn by workers and gentlemen alike, later by actors, musicians, and anyone who appreciates timeless design. Balanced proportions, a touch of nonchalance, and effortless style. The Shelby "Spitfire" is made from Abraham Moon & Sons wool - one of Yorkshire's oldest mills, where, since 1837, everything has been crafted under one roof, from yarn to finished fabric. This is craftsmanship that has endured for nearly two centuries and continues to define British quality. The gray-brown herringbone gives the cap softness and depth, carrying a quiet sense of English calm.

A Century of Craftsmanship

At Sterkowski, we follow a simple rule: craftsmanship is a mindset. And that hasn't changed in a hundred years. Every cap is the result of precision, knowledge, patience, and respect for tradition. We still work with our hands, but we think boldly - about form, function, and how the cap will look and feel years from now. For us, craftsmanship is a dialogue between the past and what's still ahead. In that sense, we're a bit like "The Few" - faithful to values that endure.

“Ready for Scramble”

Every story has its signature. So did the RAF crews during the Battle of Britain - short phrases that said it all. In the Shelby "Spitfire," that signature is the pin attached to each cap - a round RAF emblem engraved with Spitfire Sterkowski 1926. Designed exclusively for this edition, it becomes part of the story. Not just a detail, but a seal on the entire narrative - and the final mark at its end.
