Shelby Links Spirit Limited Edition. From the start...
While searching for new fabrics, we came across this linen from Magee - a houndstooth in shades of beige, brown, and green. We instantly knew we wanted to work with it. Until now, we’d only used solid-colored linen. This one was different. It had a rhythm and a landscape in it. Our first instinct? Something with a distinctly island feel. This fabric simply carried it. That’s why we chose Shelby - one of our icons. Not because it’s iconic, but because it fits the island spirit and has a story to match. Then came the question: where does this kind of Shelby belong? For us, the answer was clear - classic golf. That’s how the Shelby Links Spirit newsboy came to be. Nothing here is random.
Why “Links Spirit”?
The name refers to a traditional type of golf course - coastal, demanding, shaped by wind and uneven ground. Often nestled between dunes and the sea, these landscapes are raw and open. Professionals appreciated links courses for the direct contact with nature. The name of the cap is a nod to that world. As for the lining, it’s made from light printed cotton with a photo of Gene Sarazen, the caddie who became a legend.

Magee linen - 150 years of tradition
The fabric comes from Magee 1866 - a family-run mill in Donegal, Ireland, weaving continuously for over 150 years. Though known mainly for their tweeds, they’ve also been working with linen for generations, using time-honored methods. This particular fabric is 100% linen in a fine houndstooth, with earthy tones of beige, brown, and muted green. It has a distinct texture, is soft, lightweight, and breathable. Linen handles daily wear well, dries quickly, and performs naturally in shifting outdoor conditions.
