With a View of the Sea

The history of the Kashubia is inseparably linked to the Polish coast and the people whose everyday lives were shaped for generations by the rhythm of the Baltic Sea. For the inhabitants of coastal towns, the sea was not simply part of the landscape. It was a place of work, a source of livelihood, and a natural part of life.

It is from this environment that the Kashubia originates. Its distinctive form is inspired by caps worn by people of the sea: fishermen, skippers, and sailors. The small visor protected the eyes, the band kept the cap securely in place, and its simple construction was well suited to the demands of everyday work.

From the Deck to Everyday Life

Over time, the Kashubia began to move beyond the environment from which it originated. Like many other elements of clothing with utilitarian roots, it was no longer associated exclusively with a particular profession. Caps worn by fishermen, skippers, and sailors began to appear in everyday wardrobes as well.

Even today, its silhouette evokes associations with the coast, ship decks, and the traditional caps of people of the sea. This does not mean, however, that it requires a nautical outfit. Quite the opposite. Its simple form means it can be worn both with more classic outfits and as a distinctive element of an everyday wardrobe.

Natural Cotton

We made the Kashubia from natural cotton, a material that perfectly suits the simple, functional construction of this style. It is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable to wear.

Cotton allows air to circulate freely and manages moisture effectively, providing comfort on warmer days. Its natural fibers feel pleasant against the skin while also performing well in everyday use.

One Hundred Years of Passion and Craftsmanship

In 1926, Anna Sterkowska opened her workshop in Warsaw. She could not have known that four generations later, her great-grandchildren would be making caps for people all over the world.

She knew one thing: a good cap requires excellent materials and craftsmanship.

For one hundred years, nothing has changed in this philosophy. Every cap that leaves our workshop is the result of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. We are proud to continue bringing you new caps and hats every day.
