Great warm hat that definitely gets looks and compliments. There is just something amazing about wearing something made with quality and craftsmanship. This is Sterkowski number seven and I am already eyeing my next. My browser is not showing the star rating correctly. I hope I hit the one with the highest rating ?

I sail aboard a square rigged ship. I am not gentle on my head gear. My Hamburg from Sterkowski has served me well for years. The leather sweat band is comfortable and grips your head is the stiffest blow. The wool cap keeps my balding head warm especially off-shore. The visor is beautifully crafted. The decorative band lays flat unlike cheaper hats where that band is folded and stitched down clumsily. The only thing I’d change is to add a good, solid lanyard loop. When working aloft in the rigging or out on a yard, it’s important to securely lanyard to yourself anything…knife, marlinspike, hat, etc…that might drop onto your shipmates or into the sea. I stitched a stout seine twine turkshead to the back of my hat, but I’ll bet the hatmakers at Sterkowski could come up with a more elegant solution. Great hat at a great price. I saw this hat on Amazon and decided to purchase directly from Sterkowski & Sons. It was a smart choice, because it was shipped in record time from Poland to the USA and it was less expensive than on Amazon! The hat is beautifully well-made with attention to detail. I'm positive this hat will hold up better than most in my collection, due to the craftsmanship and I will definitely be back in the future for more!

Siempre he buscado la gorra veraniega del mujik o campesino ruso de la era clásica. He comprado gorras de varias marcas y artesanos diversos. Pedí esta porque se parece un poco más que las demás aunque la visera no corresponde. De todos modos es hermosa. Aprovecharé el invierno para usarla. También trato de conseguir una rogatywka que no sea de gala pero es más difícil de encontrar que los estilos mujik de pescador griego o fiddler (no me gusta este término).
