From the Harbor Quay

The Docker is one of those styles whose form was shaped primarily by necessity. In ports and on ship decks, headwear needed to protect against cold and wind, stay securely on the head, and not get in the way while working.

It needed neither a visor nor decorative elements. A small crown ending above the ears and a turned-up cuff created a simple construction suited to the everyday lives of people working by the water.

In the first half of the 20th century, similar caps became a characteristic element of workwear. Their advantages came precisely from their simplicity. They were compact, practical, and could be worn during physical work without restricting the field of vision.

From Work to Everyday Life

Many elements of the modern wardrobe began their history as workwear. The Docker followed a similar path.

Over time, the distinctive visorless cap began to appear beyond ports and ship decks. Its simple form proved versatile enough to find a place in everyday clothing as well.

Today, the Docker retains traces of its utilitarian origins but no longer requires workwear. It can be worn with a jacket, coat, or simple sweatshirt. The lack of additional decoration means that its character is defined primarily by its proportions and material.

Natural Wool

We made the Docker from natural wool, a material that has proven itself for generations wherever warmth, comfort, and protection from the cold matter most. It is a natural choice for a style originating from the world of sailors, dockworkers, and people working in changing weather conditions.

Wool has natural thermoregulating properties. It helps maintain a comfortable temperature while allowing the skin to breathe and managing moisture effectively. This makes the Docker comfortable to wear on colder days without sacrificing its lightness and ease of wear.

One Hundred Years of Passion and Craftsmanship

In 1926, Anna Sterkowska opened her workshop in Warsaw. She could not have known that four generations later, her great-grandchildren would be making caps for people all over the world.

She knew one thing: a good cap requires excellent materials and craftsmanship.

For one hundred years, nothing has changed in this philosophy. Every cap that leaves our workshop is the result of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. We are proud to continue creating new caps and hats for you every day.
