SiXA x Sterkowski

Joanna Sikora, better known as Sixa (@badassrocknrolla), has been working in television and film production as a director and producer for nearly twenty years. But cameras and film sets are only one part of her world. The other has long been filled with motorcycles, cars, fashion, and everything that happens somewhere between the road and the workshop.

Sixa didn’t enter the automotive world just for this project. She has been part of this community for years. She rides, travels, meets people and machines, and naturally brings the experiences from this part of her life into her work. In her world, classic motoring blends with streetwear, pop culture, and her own highly distinctive way of looking at things.

That’s why, when we started working together on the Mechanik cap, we didn’t simply want to put her name on a finished product. Sixa was involved in shaping its character from the very beginning, from the initial idea and visual direction to the story behind it.

Why not?

Not everything needs to be planned in advance. Not every decision needs a rational explanation. Sometimes an idea appears out of nowhere and seems a little absurd, but instead of thinking about it for too long, you simply go for it. Because there will always be someone who asks: Why? Does it make sense? Is it really worth it?

WHY NOT. Two words that can put an end to most of those discussions.

That’s exactly why they ended up on the visor of this cap. Partly as a joke, partly seriously. A reminder that not every good story begins with a sensible plan. Some begin with an idea you could just as easily have decided not to pursue. But then there would be no story to tell.

Don’t ask why. Ask: why not?

Character Written by Hand

Mateusz Wolski, aka WLK Calii, comes from Jaworzno but has been working in Katowice for years, where he runs his own studio. His world revolves around letters. Calligraphy, calligraffiti, lettering, and tattooing. But in his hands, a letter rarely remains just a letter. It gains movement, character, and a little grit you won’t find in a ready-made font.

His work brings two worlds together. On one side, the precision of calligraphy, where every movement of the hand matters. On the other, graffiti and tattooing, where a line can be quick, bold, and doesn’t always have to play by the rules. It’s this combination that makes his style recognizable without even seeing the signature.

Made to Work

We didn’t choose waxed cotton because it looks good in photos. This is a fabric that was developed from the very beginning for outdoor work, changing weather conditions, and things that are meant to be used, not left sitting on a shelf.

The fabric from British Millerain is durable, resistant to wind and moisture, while retaining the natural character of cotton. The wax creates a protective layer on the surface without turning the fabric into a synthetic membrane. It’s a solution British Millerain has been refining for generations, based on the traditional technique of waxing cotton with paraffin.

One Hundred Years of Passion and Craftsmanship

In 1926, Anna Sterkowska opened a workshop in Warsaw. She had no way of knowing that four generations later, her grandchildren would be making caps and hats for people all over the world.

She knew one thing: a great cap requires exceptional materials and skilled craftsmanship.

For one hundred years, nothing about that philosophy has changed. Every cap and hat that leaves our workshop is the result of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. We are proud to bring you new caps and hats every day.
