Tried and true

Reykjavik sticks to classic and reliable designs - the iconic newsboy cap and warm, hand-woven Harris tweed for comfort even on the coldest days. Natural wool breathes and you can be sure of perfect temperature regulation. For added comfort, we added a cotton lining to prevent irritation on your forehead. Oh, and the lining? It has a print - a photo of Reykjavik's harbor from nearly 100 years ago. It's always nice when clothing has a story to tell. Harbors have always been important to island nations, often serving as the first glimpse of a new land for travelers arriving from afar. They've always symbolized new beginnings. So why the 1930s? That's when our company took its first steps.

"Takk" to Iceland

The Icelandic word "takk" means more than just "thank you" - in the Polish language, it sounds like an affirmation that something is certain, undeniable. This is our way of saying thank you to Iceland for its open doors and the hospitality of its people to the thousands of Poles who have found a new home and a fresh start there in recent years.

Inspired by nature, crafted by tradition

The colors of Reykjavik are drawn from the raw beauty of the Icelandic landscape. They reflect the glaciers, volcanic beaches, and ever-present water. It's also a nod to winter and the island's sub-polar climate. Our goal was to combine the functionality of a warm newsboy cap with an aesthetic inspired by nature. We've been making caps in our family workshop for almost 100 years, and with four generations of experience, passion, and knowledge, we know how to do it right.
