Simple Form, Practical Function

The Docker is one of the simplest styles in the world of headwear. It has a small, close-fitting crown, no visor, and its most distinctive feature is the turned-up cuff. These elements create its recognizable, short silhouette.

The Docker’s shape originates from practical headwear worn by people working in ports and aboard ships. In such conditions, a cap had to stay securely on the head, provide warmth, and allow complete freedom of movement. The lack of a visor provided a wide field of vision while working, while the compact construction ensured that the cap did not get in the way of everyday tasks.

From the Port to Pop Culture

Like many garments with workwear roots, the Docker eventually found its way far beyond the environment for which it was originally created. The practical caps worn by sailors, fishermen, and dockworkers gradually became part of everyday wardrobes, while their simple shape proved remarkably versatile.

In the second half of the 20th century, workwear increasingly became part of fashion. Jeans, work jackets, military parkas, and sailor coats began to be worn not because of the wearer’s profession, but because of their appearance, durability, and authentic character. The short cap with its turned-up cuff began appearing in outfits that deliberately drew inspiration from workwear and military clothing. Over time, it became one of those accessories that could be seen both in the port and on the streets of the world’s biggest cities.

Natural Wool

We made the Docker from natural wool, a material that has proven itself for generations wherever warmth, comfort, and protection from the cold matter most. It is a natural choice for a style rooted in the world of sailors, dockworkers, and people working in changing weather conditions.

Wool has natural thermoregulating properties. It helps maintain a comfortable temperature while allowing the skin to breathe and managing moisture. As a result, the Docker provides comfort on colder days without sacrificing its lightness or ease of wear.

One Hundred Years of Passion and Craftsmanship.

In 1926, Anna Sterkowska opened a workshop in Warsaw. She could not have known that four generations later, her great-grandchildren would be making caps for people all over the world.

She knew one thing - that a good cap requires excellent materials and craftsmanship.

For one hundred years, nothing in this philosophy has changed. Every cap that leaves our workshop is the result of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. We are proud to continue bringing you new caps and hats every day.
