Two thousand four hundred and forty-eight miles of asphalt, concrete and beaten earth, stretching from Chicago all the way to the Pacific at Santa Monica, across eight states and three time zones. Route 66. The road that in 1926 linked the east with the west and has never since ceased to be a legend: neon signs, motels, roadside diners, chrome bumpers and a horizon that never ends. We're celebrating a jubilee of our own. That's why Works 66 is our tribute to the road and to the people who made it: the drivers, the migrants, the mechanics, the bar owners - all those for whom work was never a slogan, only everyday life.
