Traditional duty cap with essentially mid-east European origin. Cap is made of skin friendly materials: wool, lining is made of viscose to keep good breathability, sweatband is made of natural leather. It also has a belt with a buckle, a lacquered visor and 2 decorative buttons.
It came to Poland in XIXth century from today's Germany. At first it was considered as peasants headwear, then it became very popular when Pilsudski's Legions chose Maciejowka hat as a standard uniform headwear. In mid-war period and after II World War Maciejowka cap was worn by former Legions veterans and patriotic members of society as a tribute to Legions and their Independence deed.
Although Maciejowka is essentially a Polish cap, strictly bound to Polish history and its dramatic moments, there are also some similiar patterns throughout the world (its name is just different). This model of cap is also known as fiddler cap or greek style fisherman's cap.

Está bonito es de excelente manufactura pero...
Con el cabello corto soy talla 60 y así lo pedí. Lo sentí un poco más grande no mucho. No estoy acostumbrado a este tipo de gorras. Dicho lo anterior debo mencionar que desde mi particular percepción me parece que es muy voluminoso. Me pasó lo mismo con un Fedora Brixton no así con el ya descontinuado Fisherman Kangol. Tal vez mi tipo de cráneo es la variable crítica. Probaré comprando una talla menor y usar el estirador de sombreros Sterkowski.

This hat is exactly what I was looking for!

A perfect cap in every way
I just received my gray example of this cap. It is perfect in every way. The look is stunning. The details such as the strap and buttons speak of quality. Every material is well chosen. The manufacture is flawless. When I try it on the sizing(60) is perfect. And one look in the mirror tells me: "You chose...wisely". The exact hat I was looking for
This is the perfect hat. Looks great with my barn coat and is very well made . I generally wear a black Greek fisherman cap but I was thinking about one in olive drab as that is the color of most of my clothes. the leather brim with the buckled strap really sets it off. It reminds me of my Grandfathers WWII officers cap.
