Winter hats for 2021/2022 – our proposals

Winter hats for 2021/2022 – our proposals

Winter is coming, and while we’re still enjoying the hot summer months, it’s worth thinking a little earlier about the right hat for the winter. The market offers a variety of more or less classic models – some perfect for everyday, others for more formal occasions. Which hat is the best choice? What should you consider when shopping? Here are some proposals for the coming season!

How to choose the perfect hat for winter?

The ideal winter hat should have both an aesthetic and practical function. But how to find the right model? There are a few criteria to consider when shopping – the first is the cut, preferably one that fits your face shape. The second one is colour – in this matter follow your individual taste. Remember that a darker hat will be much more practical than one in white or beige. The size and material of the hat plays a key role. Winter is a time when you face the sun as well as the rain or snow, so the perfect model should be able to cope with either situation. So what fabrics are best for winter chills? Our answer – natural! Wool, leather, cotton

or tweed not only look impressive, but also have many practical advantages – above all, they keep the heat in and let the air through. Let’s move to our proposals!

Dockers and beanies – something for casual style fans

A docker is a typically masculine headwear, which has a tradition of over 100 years. In the past, it was worn by port and dock workers, which is how it got its name. Its characteristic element is the lack of a visor – nowadays you can find dockers made of different materials, but during winter you will definitely choose those made of wool or natural leather.  Sterkowski offers many interesting models – one of them is undoubtedly a woolen docker with drawstring, available in several subdued colours. Admirers of more elegant models will certainly like the hat made of original Scottish Harris Tweed with the „herringbone” pattern. A more contemporary version of the docker is the beanie, which has been popular for several seasons. It’s a headwear that you’ve certainly seen more than once on the streets of big cities and small towns. Beanies are worn by people of all ages – both men and women. It’s worth having at least one in your wardrobe – especially a model made of high-quality merino wool will provide you with maximum comfort and convenience, even during various outdoor activities. So? Docker or beanie?

Trapper caps, aviator caps, ushankas – proposals for really cold sensitive ones

Aviator and trapper caps are one of the hits of the coming season. Both look great with classic or more daring, avant-garde outfits. If you’re really cold sentitive and looking for a cap that will keep you warm, go for a leather papakha lined with sheepskin – you’ll love the Fargo model in light grey.  It will accompany you not only in the city, but also during mountain hikes or skiing trips. Just like the checked Lumberjack ushanka made of Harris Tweed and fur, this classic model will also appeal to women. A great advantage of this type of cap is the additional fastening under the chin, which prevents the cap from slipping off at the wrong moment, and the warm fur earflaps, which additionally protect your ears from frosty gusts of wind.

Flat cap – a stylish alternative to the classic cap

Another proposal is a flat cap available in many different designs. Surprisingly, this type of headwear is a great alternative to classic

hats. Flat caps are also back in fashion this season. Checked patterns, „herringbone” patterns and accessories in all shades of brown are also back in vogue and will be perfect for autumn and winter. How about a warm English ivy cap made from Scottish Harris Tweed? If you are a fan of classic and elegant hats, you will love the Aberdeen model with its cotton sweatband, quilted lining and decorative thin straps with buckles on the sides. It will look great with a trench coat and a wool coat. The second version of the flat cap is the Windy Ed model – the cap in a solid black colour is made entirely of genuine leather and its design is enhanced with a quilted, foldable earflap. The model, although a bit minimalistic, is a slight reference to the retro style – just like the last version, the Peaky Blinders style flat cap. Identical headwear was worn by gang members active in the 1920s and 1930s in Birmingham. Legend has it that they carried hidden blades in them, which they used during clashes with mafia and in personal affairs.
