Weatherproof Shelby applejack hat made of waterproof waxed cotton.
A vintage style Shelby cap, made of weatherproof waxed cotton from the greatest British Millerain. Waxed cotton is not only very breathable, but also has exceptional weather-resistant properties. Thanks to a special blend of waxes, it has a drier feel than common waxed fabrics and is waterproof. British Millerain was established in 1880, since then it became a pioneer of waxed cotton.
Shelby has a narrower crown than the Peaky Blinders model, it is also sewn down to the visor. On the top of the crown there is a small decorative button. Cap is lined with a breathable cotton and has a cotton sweatband inside.
This model of newsboy cap is inspired by the English gang Peaky Blinders. Members of Peaky Blinders gang wore very similar caps, at the end of the 19th century, in Birmingham. After John Douglas's novel, A Walk Down Summer Lane, arised a myth about razor blades hidden between visor and crown of their caps. Those sharp razor blades were supposed to be used as a weapon, causing wounds or blindness of their victims.

Great cap, with caveats
So, this cap is made of waxed cotton, which is stiffer than most of the fabrics used to make newsboy caps. This keeps the cap from having the same relaxed shape as the usual newsboy cap. It looks more...structured. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as I've already had several people ask about it, but be aware that this isn't the standard newsboy shape.
Aside from that, it has excellent construction and will be great to wear in rainy Texas winters. Like most Sterkowski caps, it runs large.
