On sunny days, sometimes even on very hot days, the right clothing is essential for comfort and well-being. In addition to the right colour and cut, a well-chosen material is also important. The ideal fabric should be lightweight, hygroscopic, nice to touch and hypoallergenic. In addition, it should ensure adequate air circulation and protect the skin from excessive overheating and sunlight. Which materials meet these requirements? Natural, of course, such as cotton or linen.
„[In India] there are trees which grow wild there, the fruit whereof is a wool exceeding in beauty and goodness that of sheep.” – reads a record by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus of Halicarnassus, dating from the 5th century BC. The advantages of cotton clothing were quickly recognised and it became the most popular natural raw material used to make clothes. No wonder – cotton fibres produce a fabric which is very soft, pleasant to the touch, „breathable”, absorbs moisture, gives a feeling of coolness, is kind to the skin and does not pill.
Flax (Latin Linum usitatissimum meaning „to be most useful”) has similar properties. Used by humans since the Neolithic period (7500 BC), flax fibres were originally used in the form of ropes, and later Egyptian linen, shrouds (which were used, among other things, to mummify the corpse of the pharaoh Tutankhamen) and textiles were created. The linen is characterised by a smooth surface with a particular shine, hygroscopicity and airiness. Well-finished linen yarn fabric is extremely pleasant to the touch, and is prized for being antibacterial, non-allergenic, non-static, and highly durable (twice as much as cotton and three times as much as wool).
Caps for warm days made of natural high-quality fabrics, guarantee protection of the head against excessive solar radiation, overheating, and in the case of hats and baseball caps – protection of the eyes against the blinding sun. Regardless of
the model, all caps are lightweight, have a number of convenient features, and provide high wearing comfort. Linen maciejowka cap or cotton docker cap? Not sure what to choose? Cannot decide? Be inspired by the style of the stars and choose a hat or cap model to suit your preferences! Hats made from natural materials, sewn in the traditional way, in classic, timeless designs and in a variety of colours are a solution worth choosing.
